Landau Reflex

Transitory reflexes:

The Landau Reflex and Symmetrical Tonic Neck Reflex are transitory reflexes; both come up a few months after birth.

The movement:

When a baby is held in the air and supported under its belly, its body stretches. The muscle tone of the chest and upper body is strengthened. He makes a hollow back. Function: strengthening muscle tone in the upper body, front and back. This Reflex activates the muscles that bend the limbs of his body and make his back bend backwards throughout the body. The muscle tension of his chest and upper body is strengthened.
